Artists Alive & Well Run Hot and Cold
in Back-to-Back Shows
Artists Alive & Well members are a colorful bunch – and to prove it, they’re hosting back-to-back shows based on two vastly different color palettes.
The first exhibit, Red Hot Art, opening September 9 at Sculptures by Design in City Centre, is built around – you guessed it – the color RED, pulsating, passionate, energizing RED artworks.
The first show will be followed immediately by a companion exhibit, Blue on Blue, opening October 4 at Max's Wine Dive on Shepherd. The theme of Blue on Blue is the color BLUE, natch – cool, jazzy, mellow, sophisticated art in every imaginable shade of blue.
Two participating artists have created works that highlight the contrast between the themes:
· Daniel Brents will show 2 parts of a diptych, “Thesis/Antithesis,” with the “red” half in the Red Hot Art exhibit and the “blue” half in the Blue on Blue show.
· Linda Summers Posey is creating a series focusing on self-expression in different colors. “Self-Expressed: Red” will be in the Red Hot Art exhibit, and “Self-Expressed: Blue” in the Blue on Blue show.

Houston's hottest emerging artists heat up City Centre with their colorful art. This 60-piece exhibit, including paintings, photography and sculpture, will fire you up and inspire you – and definitely won’t leave you cold.
